MOUNTAIN WEDDINGS & ELOPEMENTS
Wedding Photographer in Interlaken — between two lakes and the Jungfrau
Some wedding pictures need no caption: the Staubbach falls dropping past a couple in Lauterbrunnen, a sea of fog below Harder Kulm, the Eiger north face behind a first dance. The Jungfrau region is one of the world's great wedding backdrops — and my job is to turn it into a calm, well-planned day instead of an expedition. I work with international couples in English, from the first call to the finished gallery.

The backdrops couples travel for
- Lauterbrunnen valley — 72 waterfalls and the most photographed village meadow in the Alps.
- Grindelwald & First — the Eiger north face, mountain lakes and ridgelines for adventurous couples.
- Harder Kulm — the viewing platform above Interlaken with both lakes in one frame.
- Höhematte — the classic Jungfrau view right in town, perfect after a ceremony.
- Giessbach & Lake Brienz — waterfalls, a Belle Époque grand hotel and turquoise water.
- Iseltwald — the small fishing village on Lake Brienz for quiet, intimate series.
The best spots here are reached by train and cable car — wedding dress included. What makes the difference is planning: generous buffers between connections, portrait windows set around the light rather than the itinerary, and a weather decision made calmly the evening before, with alternatives ready at lower altitude. I build that plan for you and confirm any venue- or platform-specific rules in advance, so on the day you simply ride up and enjoy it.

A sample elopement day
- Morning — getting ready in your hotel; quiet portraits before the day begins.
- Late morning — train up; I photograph the journey, it is part of the story.
- Midday — your ceremony or vows at the viewpoint.
- Afternoon — unhurried portraits at one or two spots, picnic or apéro in between.
- Evening — back down for dinner, or golden hour by Lake Brienz.
Two spots in one day is realistic; three is a rush. I will tell you honestly which combination fits your date and season.

Seasons in the Jungfrau region
June brings green alps with snow still on the peaks, September and October golden larches and fog seas below the viewpoints, winter deep snow without the crowds. There is no wrong season — only different pictures, and I will advise you honestly based on the image you have in mind.
Planning a bigger celebration at a hotel or mountain venue in the region? I cover full wedding days too — and film as well: wedding film. Deutschsprachige Version: Hochzeitsfotograf Interlaken.

FAQ — Wedding Photographer Interlaken
Do we need to hike?
No — the classic viewpoints are reachable by train and cable car. Comfortable shoes for short walks, beautiful shoes for the pictures.
Can our family join us up the mountain?
Yes — many spots suit every generation. I will tell you which places work for groups and which are better kept intimate.
What about permits?
Public viewpoints are generally straightforward; where a venue or platform has its own rules, I confirm them before your date.
How weather-proof is the plan?
Very — every spot has an alternative at another altitude, and we decide the evening before, not in a panic at breakfast.
Which season would you choose?
For first-timers: late June or late September — reliable access, spectacular light, fewer crowds than midsummer.
Do you also photograph proposals or after-wedding sessions here?
Gladly — the region is perfect for an after-wedding session without the time pressure of the wedding day.
