I have photographed a wedding here, and what I enjoyed most was how naturally the day moved between the hotel interiors and the lakeside setting. It is a venue that works beautifully for couples who want an elegant celebration close to Zurich while still feeling connected to the water and landscape.

The combination of historic architecture, intimate interiors and direct access to the lake creates a strong sense of place without overwhelming the wedding itself.
From a photographer’s perspective, this variety is especially valuable. Portraits can feel polished and architectural in one moment, then softer and more relaxed by the water only a few minutes later.
A wedding at Seehotel Sonne can unfold in a very natural rhythm. The different parts of the day remain close together, which helps the celebration feel connected and gives the couple more time with their guests.
I prefer to photograph the day without constantly interrupting it. The strongest images often come from allowing real moments to happen while using the architecture, light and lakeside setting to give the photographs a distinctive sense of place.

When the wedding schedule allows it, I like to keep a short portrait window flexible so that we can work with the best available light without taking the couple away from their celebration for too long.
